skin 8 weeks (2)

Okay. Here we are at 8 weeks. Generally my skin is clearing but as you can see there are still some spots. Think this is due to a recent daily facial skin massage with a Ridoki (roller) which is helping to improve circulation and in so doing is clearing deeper congestion. After 40 odd years of spots around my chin, I am pleased with the results that have occured in 8 weeks and am confident that my skin will go on improving. It feels differnt to the touch and that’s a big thing so I’m less likely to pick!! It’s great to be able to go out in public without a desperate neeed to ‘cover up’ the spots. If I cloose to that’s a different matter. So all in all I would say that this regime has made a difference. Thank you.

skin 7 weeks

This is almost a week on from last photo.   the lumpiness has gone even though some scars remain. Scarring no doubt will take longer to disappear. It doesn’t always happen but more often i go out without make-up on. I’d never have done this even 3 months ago. So progress really.

skin 6weeks

Well, although the first picture was taken 8 weeks ago, I didn’t start the programme until 6 weeks ago. So this is 2 weeks on from the last photo. Isn’t it a great idea to take photos – even in two weeks I can see a difference.

As mentioned on clear-for-life, observing progress is about seeing the developments from before rather than comparing to the overall goal each time. I think this is so true – always measuring the current state with the ideal leaves me dispirited – a case of ‘oh no, not there yet’. But… seeing the difference between now and a time ago e.g. two weeks ago, and it leaves me with a greater sense of achievement and progress.

Choosing to exercise, drink plenty of water, eat regularly, eat helpful foods, breathe fully and get as much sun and fresh air as possible each day is contributing to a new skin-friendly lifestyle. Mindset is key too I think. I’m feeling less anxious about spots and am consciously choosing to direct a TLC energy towards my skin rather than the previously impatient and hostile engery. It’ll take time to change this previous longstanding habit but looking back I can see a difference and that fills me with a good feeling.

skin aid 2weeks

Well, although this is the bare truth of my skin today(still a little shocking to see), comparing it with the first photo, I think I can see an improvement i.e. skin is not so lumpy. I am keeping to the skincare regime but am still drinking coffee, an occasional glass of wine and continue to pick at times. However, this said, I feel good about making changes to my lifestyle and the coffee, wine and picking are becoming less. I am keeping to regular fitness, as well as regular meals and 2-3 litres of water a day.  After years and years of such habits, it’s refreshing to see a difference in behaviour. There’s mind set work that I am doing presently too – to do with self-image and self-esteem, so at least now I can look in a mirror and without either turning away or hating what I see. I’ve discovered that cutting off/disassociating from or sending hateful energy around the body just doesn’t work. It’s lead to years of misery. And now things are changing and that feels sooooo gooooood!

October 5th 2009

Back now from hols so have started using products together as only took facial wash away  due to me sunbathing and the recommendation not to use the medicated gel in the sun.

Wow! It’s already making a difference. Of course I’ve also started to change my attitude towards my skin/spots ( am using additional resources from clear-for-life).

BUT

If Rebecca hadn’t sent the e-mail out I would never be at this stage right now. So I’m truly thankful.

Now when I start to ‘pick’ or ’squeeze’ I bring to mind the macoroni effect.  It’s certainly helping me think twice!! I’m also discovering my trigger(s) for picking and am working on replacing the ‘picking’ response with a less harmful response.

Have been conscious of drinking plenty of water, eating regular small meals throughout the day ( to prevent wide fluctuations in blood sugars)establishing a regular exercise habit and addressing my beliefs about my self . Must say others have noticed that my shape is changing – a trimmer waist. Most imortantly, I feel more in charge.

Sept 11th

Received pack. Will start using after returning from holiday. Think this will help clear infection in the short term while other changes in lifestyle will help create internal conditions where acne doesn’t manifest.

Am learning more about how acne is related to blood sugar regulation and chronic inflammation. So how we SEE acne will affect how we deal with it. Seeing it as an ‘enemy’ in my opinion only creates a negative/hurtful/harmful/hateful energy within. Better, I think, to foster a kinder more compassionate energy within.
